Read my sign – I write for money

When I work with authors, I always ask them why they are writing a book.  They give me many different answers.  Some say “I have a story iinside me” or “I want to help people.”  All the reasons are valid.   Each of them makes sense for the author who claims then as his/her motivation for writing.

My motive is different than most authors I speak with.  I write for money.  I write to be wealthy.

This doesn’t mean that I am a writer for hire.  I am not a ghost writer nor a freelance journalist.  (There is nothing wrong with either of these two professions, it just isn’t me.)  I write non-fiction books, and I do it to sell them for a profit.  Indeed, I want a BIG profit – not from the sale of a few, high-priced books, but from the sales of many, many books.

This is my first post in my new blog “The Wealthy Author” and over the coming weeks, months and years, I am going to share my story with you, and teach you everything I know about making money as an author.  I will also bring in other experts to do some guest blogs, and will ask you for your feedback, comments and suggestions as well.

So, stay tuned.  This will be a great journey for anyone who wants to become wealthy through authorship.
